New York Summer- Hot Purple

I’m torn about this particular polish. I love the purple jelly and I love the look of it, but I HATE the visible nail line. Actually, this is WORSE than visible nail line, it makes my nail line look blue. FAIL. I need to definitely wear a white base with this one. It took three coats to get this look, and I think it probably needs one more. All in all, I’m pretty impressed with New York Summer polishes, I’m quite fond of the jelly finishes and the squishiness of the polish gives it a different dimension than what I’m used to seeing. Perfect for summer. These jelly polishes remind me of those jelly shoes or sandals. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? hahaha

I love all jellies and VNL is of no consequence to me so I love it!

  2. Ehhh I love the color, but VNL just drives me nuts. And you're right, I totally had jelly shoes that exact color! Not the most comfortable thing to run around the playground in, but hey, Iwas stylin'.

  3. I had 1 pair of jellies growing up and I wore them until they fell apart. *sigh* Ah, the good times. LOL That's a pretty color, if it weren't so transparent. Though that doesn't even really describe it. So, I guess I'll just leave it at "pretty color". LOL

I loved my jelly sandals. I remember mine being a light pink, and I managed to ruin them by stepping in tar (yeah, right?! Out of all the things to step in)

I like it! It gives it a two-toned look.

I actually like this look! The VNL makes it look like you're wearing one of the "mood" polishes. Love the jelly-ness of it too.

i think this is a gorgeous color..but I agree with you about the VNL. Maybe a nude base would look good and allow it to keep the jelly quality?
