Well good evening lovelies! I don’t usually do evening posts but, I felt compelled to do this one today. I have for you the Magnetix Collection. A HUGEEE shoutout thank you to Jen over at The Polishaholic for giving me the heads up about this collection. Well, onwards!
Attraction- I used one coat. A gunmetal black.
Cling On- I used two coats. A slight greenish gold.
Drawn to You- I used one coat. A light purple pink.
Instant Chemistry- I used one coat. A dark purple.
Pull Me Close- I used one coat. A slight blackish blue.
You Move Me- I used two coats. A tannish gold.
Wow, my descriptions of these suck, but I’m pretty sure you can look at the pictures for yourself and let them talk. You can click on all the pictures and enlarge them as well. First off, these were the first magnetic polishes I have ever tried so I have nothing to compare them too, and MAN they are SO cool. As much as I hated physics in college, I LOVED the magnet part of the curriculum. I guess you can say I was drawnnnn to it.. HYUK HYUK HYUK. Okay, please don’t unfollow me =[ In any case, the magnet that this set (that you have to purchase separately) kinda sucks. But, then again, I have nothing to compare it to so, for my purposes the striped pattern and the star pattern worked pretty decently, but the “chevron” design failed SO miserably as you can see from the nice little arcs it made in some of the pictures. The formula on these is all over the place. Some were pretty thick, others were pretty runny. You really don’t know until you open the next bottle. I found a little trick while I was using these magnetic polishes, I don’t know if someone else already figured it out. I felt like a genius. HA. While I would hold the magnet near my nail I would blow on my nail to speed up the drying time so the image is much more pronounced on the nail. If that makes sense. If I didn’t do that I saw that my designs would be pronounced initially and then sort of “melt” away as the polish dried. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, kudos to you for reading this far. Anyway, I think this collection is super cool beans. I think I might need to grab some Icing Magnetic polishes to see if those are any different so I can have a better comparison, but these will do for now. I think I read that these polishes will retail from 10-12 dollars a pop at a store near you!

oo that is a really clever tip….never thought of that
Although for some colours I do like the faded look more.
=D Hopefully it helps! hehe
I have three of the four Icing (though I got mine at Claire’s) polishes. Two of the magnets were the same and one of them was kinda weak. The two good ones are diagonal lines and wavy lines. I like that there is a guide on two sides of the magnet in order to make the design either horizontal or vertical.
HMMMM I need to stop by my local Icing! I'll have to keep the diagonal lines and wavy lines in mind when I go get them…
I know what you mean with speeding up the drying time. Because the metal particles set when the polish dries, the design will float away when the polish isn't dry enough yet.
I am still not sure I like magnetics, I think I am not so much for the patterns. They are nice one coaters though!
They are VERY nice one coaters, and even if I don't use the magnet part I think I love the colors enough to just use them on their own! I'm glad you understood my speeding drying time. AHAHA I thought I sounded crazy. =]
Thank you Nailstah for the added tip! I bought the Icing magnetics and I felt the design would go away after I removed the magnet.
YAYYY!!! I hope it helps!! =D
I'm in love relationship with magnetic's and my favorite shades from this collection are Attraction, Instant Chemistry and Pull Me Close
Your swatches are amazing
AWWW thankssss <3 You are so sweet. I LOVE these magnetic polishes! I think they're so freaking cool!
I don't want these as much as I thought I would. I don't know if I'm going through polish burnout or what. But…I will probably keep my eyes open for the two purples (probably the lighter one). Thanks for the email!!
<3333 no problem Meg!! I think they're pretty cool, I can't wait till it's time for a pedicure I'm gonna magnetize my toes! =D
